Data Innovations (DI) announces the availability of Lab GPS™ v2.4. This latest version decreases connectivity downtimes in the laboratory by enabling lab staff and Lab Information System (LIS) administrators to be more proactive in detecting connection issues when using Instrument Manager™ (IM) lab middleware.

Updates in this newest version enable labs to be more flexible and precise in setting time parameters for downtime alerts.

  • Up to four distinct time windows can now be defined within a 24-hour period, each with its own alert threshold. This lets staff adjust alert timing to match daily transaction volume changes.
  • With this added flexibility, last transaction alerts can be tuned more effectively, tightening thresholds where faster notification is needed while reducing false alerts during slower periods.
  • Teams can now rely on more accurate, context-aware alerts across their workflows.

The newest version of Lab GPS also includes minor changes to the mobile app, available as part of the Lab GPS subscription. Compatible with both Android and iOS devices, the mobile app is designed to give LIS support staff the freedom to monitor and troubleshoot connections from anywhere, including the ability to restart inactive connections remotely.

Lab GPS is only available to direct Data Innovations customers in the United States and Canada using IM middleware. Lab GPS is not available on business partner-sold IM systems.
